“They all start with a clump of clay. It boggles my mind how each develops into a character unique to itself. Sometimes as I’m wrapping up a piece, doing the last touch ups, a name pops up into my mind. I‘d like to think that they are introducing themselves to me.”

Created intuitively and organically by the artist, Neman’s ceramic sculptures center around the human form. While the visible hand of the artist gives a primitive, impressionistic effect, these works are also innately feminine or masculine. The Ojai-based sculptor continues to explore color and depth as she evolves her practice.
