Modernism Sequence iv, large

Textile
$ 2,000

Unmercerized cotton on canvas. Natural cherry wood frame.

Taking a structured approach to the idea of subtle differences dispersed across works, Alyssa Breid’s Modernism series combines horizontal and vertical lines to bring subtle interest to the work. Black thread grounds each work, providing a resting point for the softer shapes. Meant to be paired in varying ways, each size and shape are rooted and related to the same idea.

About our custom frames

“I feel that I am a part of a tradition that generations before me have done, working with thread, working with their hands. It is my goal to carry on this tradition, but in a new way.”
