He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not
Embossed, hand-dyed paper Mounted on linen in custom acrylic frame
From Humphreys’ first solo exhibition at Paul Loya Gallery in Los Angeles in 2015, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not is a light-hearted take on navigating the dating scene. Embossed, hand-dyed paper on linen is constructed into a checkerboard pattern — a subtle wink of the games one seemingly has to play when finding love.
