Études: Object Humanity 2
Clay, Pigment, Acrylic, Charcoal, Spray Paint, and Oil on Canvas
Following the success of Neon Primitivism, Beletic returns with Object Humanity, an evocative and emerging new chapter in her exploration of humanity’s relationship with time, materials, and meaning. This series deepens Beletic's investigation into the cultural and cosmological forces that shape us. The Études are the artist's early studies that offer a first look at the bold, pop-inflected direction being charted. These works serve as both a prelude and a collectible artifact, distilling the essence of her upcoming series in vibrant, gestural form without unveiling its full-scale ambition.
Rooted in cultural and cosmological inquiry, the series fuses philosophical pluralism with cubist fragmentation, collapsing tradition and subversion, history and innovation. Known for her bold, rebellious approach, Beletic blends ancient and modern materials, while oscillating between pop-art exuberance and introspective primitivism. With a distinct blend of intellectual curiosity and artistic daring, Beletic transforms each canvas into a visual dialogue re-contextualizing objects and iconography, exploring a narrative where history and contemporary culture converge.

“I feel like all of my work not only has this grounding in earth and humanity, but also in a sense of party, celebration, and vibrancy.”

About the Artist
Ali Beletic
Ali Beletic’s multidisciplinary practice spans large-scale painting, experiential sculpture, and immersive installation. In both formal experimentation and elemental ritual, her work invites viewers into an expansive dialogue between the modern self and a more primal, ancestral sense of being. Through a pluralistic lens, Beletic weaves together materials like clay, spray paint, soapstone, and fire, creating spaces where ancient traditions, contemporary art histories, and cultural movements coexist. From post-minimalist rain catchments in the desert to ceremonial parties scored by hidden drummers, her projects activate the natural world as both collaborator and stage. Beletic's practice has garnered recognition from Vogue, Ignant, NPR, VICE, The Cut, and Architectural Digest and can be found in the collections of Eva Chen, Robia Rashid and Michael Oppenhuizen.
At the heart of Beletic’s work is a desire to reconcile dualities: the ancient and the futuristic, intellect and intuition, stillness and celebration. Her light-based installations offer contemplative spaces for reflection, expanding awareness and evoking the vastness of the cosmos. Influenced by ideas like those in The Lexus and the Olive Tree, Beletic’s work champions a worldview that honors both the archaic and the advanced, using art as a medium to hold complexity, embrace multiplicity, and create moments of both presence and transcendence.
