DESCRIPTION

Stemming from the discovery of film slides her father found while moving Veraldi’s grandmother out of her home in Detroit, the artist was inspired to revive them through her drawings. “My father’s parents are Italian immigrants who instilled a great sense of family and tradition in our family.” Through portraying the nostalgic fashion and color tones, the artist captures her immediate family through simple, gestural strokes, evoking a sense of fondness to the found memories.
