Hunched Woman With Star
DESCRIPTION
Ink on paper | 2019
Fanny Allié’s practice is inspired by overlooked and lost elements of everyday life. She’s interested in the spaces we inhabit, specifically the body—the first place that contains us. Allié’s “Pink” series is a collection of collagraph prints that she created with previously discarded packaging and containers. Each work features an abstract, uncertain landscape. Characters and their shadows interact with grounding elements like homes and rocks, but are simultaneously unsteady as if they are suspended by a thread or on the verge of falling.

“Through my work, I reflect on human connections and feelings related to memory, passage, loss, the discarded, ephemerality and the delicate and precarious narrative that links us to each other”
