In her latest body of work, Brianna Lance explores the possibility of transforming difficult experiences into sources of insight, beauty, and renewed agency. Drawing from moments of loss, anger, powerlessness, and the quieter challenges of everyday life, Lance uses the act of making as a way to move through emotional intensity and reframe it. The works reflect a belief in the capacity to reclaim one’s sense of strength and perspective, allowing hardship to become a site of growth rather than an endpoint. Through this process, Lance considers how even the most difficult moments can be alchemized into something more expansive, offering a meditation on resilience, transformation, and the ways we emerge changed on the other side.
