Lives and works in New York, NY
Driven to document her ongoing subconscious and spiritual journeys, Brianna Lance paints fantastical environments that are rich in detail and spontaneous in form. Lance’s paintings have been featured in Vogue, Miami Art Week, Harper's Bazaar, East Hampton Star, Freehand New York, and The Standard Hotel. Recent collaborations include The Edition Hotels, Ciao Lucia, and The Frankie Shop.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“My work is fueled by meditation and the subconscious, using a mixture of repetition and chaos. The technique I use—whether it’s painting, embroidery, or sculpture—is starting with a loose base, then adding intricate and detailed layers on top. Each work has a dichotomy between the spontaneous and the hyper-focused. I use detail to put myself into a meditative state when creating the work, and to create moments that the viewer can linger on. My mission is to document my subconscious and spiritual journey, then share those moments with others. The work is essentially a diary of my soul as I go through life.”
