In his Meta-Paintings series, the artist Mathew Tucker illustrates the artifice of painting through constructed landscapes. He paints frames, borders, and other symbols of bounded space, working in a portrait format to disrupt traditional ways of seeing and representing.

Mathew Tucker
Brooklyn-based painter Mat Tucker's painting and drawing practice focuses on large, surreal landscapes. The practice Mat's words: "In recent years my work has focused on re-imagining landscapes as though looking through a window, an opening or a portal...
