Ciel 6
Graphite on paper, framed in chrome
Building on their creative ambition to seek beauty in the everyday, French artistic duo Martinet & Texereau release their latest body of work with Tappan. “Skies Series” includes 5 drawings of graphite on paper. Inspired by the summer skies on a 2014 trip to Trondheim, Norway, the artists sought to capture the energy and meditative state of that time and place. To encapsulate the seemingly never ending Norwegian daylight, the duo’s process involved phases of research, working collectively from a lexicon of rules, methods, and lists.
The works in this series are sold fully matted, finished, and framed.

PAIGE WASSEL ON MARTINET + TEXEREAU
“Something about Martinet + Texereau’s drawings and prints bring me back to my childhood. They sketch a lot of almost suburban homes, which remind me of my life growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. I love when a piece of art can make me feel a sense of comfort and for some reason these homes do just that.”
