Fanny Allié’s new works are a practice in alchemy. The textile and mixed media works in this ongoing series are inspired and directed by remnants and refuse — lost and overlooked elements of daily life. By using discarded and abandoned objects, the artist tells stories or allegories that are born from society’s personal and collective experience — re-imagining shared mythologies anchored in an urban environment.

“Through my work, I reflect on human connections and feelings related to memory, passage, loss, the discarded, ephemerality and the delicate and precarious narrative that links us to each other”
