Try Again (Diptych)
Acrylic on heavy weighted fine linen. Framed in Oak.
Minimalist in nature, with clear influences from Bauhaus and brutalist design apparent throughout, Tenebris is a continuation of Millet’s studio work. Across the series, the artist explores different styles within minimalism, yet connects them all under the auspices of common goals: contrast, simplicity, texture, form, and line.

“The work explores material moments of agency, simplicity, movement and texture. The artworks aim for depth and intensity through doing less.”

About the Artist
Tabitha Millett
Dr Tabitha Millett is an associate professor of arts, creativities, and education at the University of Cambridge. Based in her Cambridge studio, Millett’s practice is grounded in a tactile exploration of materiality - attentive to agency, contrast, movement, and texture. Her work resists excess, pursuing intensity through reduction, and meaning through making. It is what it is - and asks for nothing more than attention, and offers nothing other than itself.
