In Breaking Free, Emma Ortiz presents a body of work that reflects both personal and creative expansion. Created during the transition into 2026, the twenty paintings mark a process of release and renewal, as Ortiz dismantled internal barriers and allowed the energy of a new season to guide her approach.
The works emerged as companions through a period of self-care and self-discovery, offering affirmation and clarity while revealing new emotional and imaginative terrain within her practice. About the Artist
Emma Ortiz
Emma Ortiz is a painter living and working in Miami, FL. After receiving her BFA from Parsons School of Design in 2019, she moved back home to Miami and began painting orchids as studies. Ortiz received her MFA in painting in 2022 and had her New York debut solo show with ATM Gallery in summer 2023.
