Lab Values HV-C
DESCRIPTION
Mixed media on coffee stained, handmade paper | 2022
Laboratory Values, a new series of mixed media works by Helen Rebekah Garber, is a contemplation on the undercurrent of numerical calculations in daily life. They so frequently go unnoticed and uninterpreted, but the artist interprets them each day in her work in medicine. Garber used the patterns from these calculations as the foundation for this body of work, allowing the artist and the viewer alike to interact with them on a more subconscious level. This method opens up new creative connections and possibilities when assigning data to color choices, texture, and composition in this series.
