Immersion #014
Oil on canvas
HENRYK’s new launch marks a bold expansion of his gestural stroke practice, the result of an eight-month exploration into the raw elegance of granulated oil on canvas. Unlike traditional approaches that rely on smooth, commercially prepared paints, HENRYK continues his pursuit of pushing boundaries by reversing the process—embracing restraint while challenging the possibilities of oil as a medium.
Where past works erupted in bold, un-contained gestures breaking free from the canvas, Immersion distills that energy into a quieter yet equally powerful force. Through granulated washes and controlled movement, the series reveals a balance of liberation and precision—subtle in texture yet commanding in presence. Comprising large-scale works (1.7 x 1.5m) alongside a selection of smaller canvases, the exhibition offers a new dimension of the artist’s practice, where depth emerges not only through force but through nuance.
