Dark Cloud #1
DESCRIPTION
Paper pulp and watercolor | 2021
Fanny Allié created this body of work at the Dieu Donné Workspace Program Residency between 2020 and 2021. The series depicts intimate scenes in which different characters evolve in labyrinthian, underground, and dreamlike spaces. Each paper landscape contains unique movements and tensions, from loose structures to rhythmic hanging threads and choreographed gestures. To produce the works, Allié layered and sewed found pieces of fabric, leather, and cardboard. These combined materials served as molds for the final handmade paper pulp and watercolor works.
