DESCRIPTION
Archival pigment print | 2020
Culver’s process, from digital drawing to the painted surface, is an emotional one in which the painter aims to reflect a mood or feeling in her palette and compositions. And in this latest series of abstract works, she shows a somewhat darker side, opting for jagged edges and fiery earth tones that signify a pushing of boundaries, the abandonment of complacency.

JANELLE LLOYD ON MARLEIGH CULVER
“Marleigh Culver is a favorite artist of mine that Tappan features. I loved the name of this piece for my daughter’s eventual bedroom. It’s the question I ask myself pretty much every day when I look at her.”
