Onde Profonde III
Oil on canvas
In her latest body of work, Jihyeon Park deepens her exploration of the inner landscape, marking an evocative evolution in her practice. Alongside botanical subjects that dissolve into softer, more fluid forms, this collection introduces her inaugural series of pure abstractions in oil.
Moving from the vibrant palette of her debut collection, Park embraces a muted, atmospheric harmony of gentle neutrals and deep, resonant tones—thoughtfully attuned to breathe and settle with quiet grace into contemporary living spaces. Guided by the subtle rhythm of nature’s gentle currents, translucent glazes and fluid brushwork embody an intuitive process of letting go, softening contours until only the essential rhythm remains. The resulting canvases offer a grounded sanctuary of stillness and gentle strength, inviting viewers to pause, exhale, and reconnect with their own still center.

"I long for my practice to unfurl its leaves like a tree, while flowing deeply inward like water. As my brushstrokes ripple into abstraction, I hope these pieces bloom into a peaceful sanctuary filled with the anticipation of new leaves this morning."
About the Artist
Jihyeon Park
Jihyeon Park is a Seoul-based contemporary artist whose oil paintings allow organic forms to naturally ripple into pure abstraction. Through translucent layers and fluid brushwork, the artist translates the rhythmic movements of nature and her inner depth onto the canvas. Rooted in a philosophy of softening and deepening, Jihyeon’s meditative pieces serve as a peaceful sanctuary, accompanying viewers with a sense of gentle strength and comfort. Park's work has been featured in a solo show at Gallery Doll, a solo booth at the Galleries Art Fair Suwon, as well as in The World of Interiors (UK).
