Holding Hands, Connecting Hearts
DESCRIPTION
Archival ink on museum-quality cotton rag paper | 2022
In Transitions, the new series of prints and paintings from abstract artist Satsuki Shibuya, the artist offers a meditation on change. In her own words:
Transitions.
Some may view it as life altering,
exhilarating, a way to a new beginning.
For others,
a time of contemplation, deep reflection
into a lifetime prior to now.
From one moment in time to another,
transitions allow for expansion,
leading to new discoveries,
healing past wounds,
grounding into the Earth
to reveal our true nature.
During such movements,
it is important to carve out space
to view each passing scene
appreciating, noticing,
where we will be landing next.
—Satsuki Shibuya

“I associate sounds with colors, or more specifically, certain sound waves as colors. It is a combination of the sound tone, mixed with a sensory connection to the vibration felt throughout the body which produces an association with a particular color.”
