DESCRIPTION
Oil on canvas | 2023
The second (and last) painting dealing with Norwegian painter Edvard Munch mirrors Munch’s own work in its expressiveness and sometimes-dark mystery. Petra Schott appears very powerful here. Munch's paintings reflect the dark side of being human, which addresses difficult, inexplicable events and often have a melancholy undertone. In this painting, Schott takes up this form of expression, translating it masterfully into her own abstract, painterly language.
