Under The Banyan Tree
Oil stick on wood panel
Eva Ray Studio was established by contemporary artist Laura Brown based in Whitstable, Kent, where she works from her studio by the sea. Her paintings explore the relationship between color, texture, and gesture, drawing on a love of intuitive mark-making and layered composition.
Working primarily with oil sticks and pastels, Ray creates expressive abstract works that balance structure with spontaneity. Through blocks of color, rhythmic patterns, and energetic marks, Ray's paintings evoke a sense of movement, memory, and place while inviting viewers to form their own personal connections with each piece.
