Across artist Henryk Lobaczewski's work is an element of the unknown. Each piece is immersive, textural, and intense as the artist draws comparisons between life’s captured micro-moments, where (even with the same tools, materials, and environments) there is always a different outcome. Henryk is dedicated to making work that creates new textures via quick decisions, chasing the perfect gestural stroke that speaks of the moment in which it was rendered and that can then last an eternity.

The Solid State series started with the desire to see how much paint the artist could keep on a canvas, and then once dry, would stay on a wall. Henryk wanted the viewer to almost want to catch the paint as if it was falling off the wall in their mind when they viewed the work. He uses about four different products sometimes mixed together which result in either super matte, super gloss, or in between finishes. The intent is always to freeze a moment in time, that has a feeling that it could shift, or change or fall off a wall at any moment when viewed.
