Stacy Solodkin (b. 1970, Louisville, KY) is a Los Angeles-based artist whose practice spans painting and sculpture. For nearly four decades, she worked in acrylic and encaustic, developing an abstract visual language defined by accumulated gesture and material transformation.

Currently working primarily with porcelain reinforced by cotton linter, Solodkin creates forms that would be structurally impossible without the fiber's temporary architecture. Rooted in this kind of resourcefulness and improvisation, her practice positions the studio as a site of continual experimentation where setbacks become catalysts for invention -- where resilience is discovered in moments of decision.

Solodkin has studied ceramic traditions throughout the United States and Asia and recently expanded her material research at Pilchuck Glass School, founded by Dale Chihuly. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US and is held in private collections internationally.
