In What’s True Is Yours, Emma Ortiz returns to the intuitive foundations of her painting practice—trusting instinct, listening to the body’s intelligence, and allowing each canvas to unfold like a diary entry. Created in the reflective space between her 27th and 28th years, the series maps the intersections of memory, emotion, and energy, revealing how each moment leaves its trace in both thought and gesture.

Through twelve oil paintings, Ortiz investigates the ways truth manifests through presence—how it resists escape, insists on recognition, and ultimately belongs to those willing to stand fully in it.
