Limen
The word "liminal" comes from the Latin word “limen,” which means threshold.
In this dynamic group exhibition, Tappan artists offer vivid, bold-hued visual narratives that probe the fine line between the tangible world and realms beyond. The works on display oscillate between where the natural and spiritual worlds coexist in a clash of colors and forms. Each piece invites the viewer to step into these imagined spaces, blurring the boundaries between the physical and metaphysical, while challenging perceptions of what is possible or real.
As the artists delve into the liminal spaces where these worlds intersect, they present a kaleidoscope of possibilities—some grounded in reality, others teetering on the edge of fantasy. Through striking color palettes and intense contrasts, this collection of works acts as a visual dialogue, drawing viewers into a contemplation of their own perceptions of utopia, dystopia, and the thin veil that separates them.
