Ed Burkes is a painter currently based in Cornwall. Burkes has been exhibited widely across the UK and internationally. His work has been shown with galleries including Beers London and Arusha Gallery, and in cities such as London, Edinburgh, Barcelona, and Dubai. Burkes’ breakthrough came with Dandelion (2020–2021), a body of work developed during a nine-month residency in Derbyshire. The project culminated in solo exhibitions at Derby Museum and Art Gallery and later at Mall Galleries, London. Subsequent solo presentations, including Falling from a Hill for a View in 2024 in Barcelona, and A Yellow Beat in a Stone House in London in 2021.
