Elsewhere
Tappan is pleased to present ELSEWHERE, a group exhibition exploring landscape—both abstract and representational—as a way of reflecting on place, memory, and imagination. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, the artists in ELSEWHERE treat landscape not as static geography, but as an evolving inner space shaped by longing, projection, and possibility.
From dissolving horizon lines to dreamlike terrains, these works invite viewers into emotional and speculative landscapes—places shaped as much by memory and vision as by physical form. ELSEWHERE also expands the idea of place to include the inner world: the emotional journeys we take and the imagined settings we build. In this space between reality and invention, the familiar becomes fantastical, and the distant feels near.
