DESCRIPTION

Graphite and tape on paper | 2019

While spending a week alone in November 2019 at an 18th century cottage on the east coast of Scotland, Caflisch returned to two approaches he had previously engaged with in his practice — his art school-era use of tape as a medium to explore line, and his play on morse code where he uses the title of the piece as the content of the work itself. While staying in the cottage with no electricity, Caflisch created numerous works on paper inspired by his dialogue with this place and space.
