DESCRIPTION
Watercolor and gouache on paper | 2022
This new series of watercolor and gouache on paper from Alexandra Karamallis is a reflection of a major life transition when she and her husband moved from Brooklyn to the Hudson Valley. Always deeply inspired by landscapes and nature, Karamallis had previously only been able to experience it in small doses when given the chance to escape the city. Now fully immersed, the artist basks in the opportunity to now make being in nature part of her daily routine. This new series is an observation of the shifting colors and changes of the land throughout each season in her new home.
