DESCRIPTION
Acrylic, graphite, and charcoal on heavyweight 410gsm Hahnemuhle paper | 2020
This series of new work on paper is taken from a wider series that has been produced over the past 3 months, during which the population of the United Kingdom was on lockdown. The artist has spent this period outside of his normal environment of London, staying with family in an isolated rural setting. The influence of the countryside and the heightened importance of outdoor spaces during this time has had a direct impact on the work. The transitioning spring landscape with its longer days, wispy skies, rainstorms and acid green new growths has found its place in these paintings, manifesting as colours, forms and textures.
