This series was created during Chiswell’s time in our Tappan residency program and is focused on how time and place are captured in the process of making abstract and geographical works. Abundant folds of canvas elude to more than fits within the frame. Freezing fabric in motion, or casting rock and branch in metal captures a moment in time, connecting the past and future through direction of movement.
