Oil on paper and Washi paper, found paper, and textile collage | 2018
In Tagada’s series “Safe Space”, she paints women holding teacups in order to emphasize the daily action and ritual of tea as a space created for comfort. In these moments of painting her subjects she spoke in depth to the women about social and ecological subjects they were passionate about. These original works on paper mark an evolution in Tagada’s practice that she plans to continue on canvas.
