Using a Nivea tin designed by German artist Juan Gregorio Clausen in 1925 as her initial inspiration for this collection of geometric drawings, Gee indulged in an immersive exploration of color and form. With this nostalgic object as her muse, the artist worked methodically to not only achieve the exact color, but her perception of its energy and dynamics as well while staying true to the harmonious compositions and obsession with circles that have become her trademark.
