DESCRIPTION
Quilted linen and canvas, birch and brass brad frame | 2020
Conceived through extensive sketching and combining found, offcut, and new fabric, Caflisch’s spending the night in a different bed series explores color theory and abstraction through the additive process of combining textiles together to create a whole. Caflisch’s self-taught sewing process is a result of trial and error, where the nuances and vibrations of the sewing machine itself contribute to the result of the completed work.
