DESCRIPTION

Oil and acrylic on synthetic canvas

"An abstract representation of a word that is itself somewhat abstract in its meaning as it refers to something, but we are not clear what that something is.  The Athenians would take the Kykeon during the Eleusinian Mysteries that would take place every spring.  The bird shapes around the word serve as a type of logo, and the logo for me has always represented something coercive in that it forces a type of archetype on the viewer in the form of a representation of a larger structure or system - not unlike a sigil.
