While in residency with Tappan, Veraldi drew a series of portraits of her favorite legendary figures spanning a wide range of cultural references. In her phases of research she sifted through photo and video archives of each figure, in attempt to capture a more rounded portrait. “The research helps me to try to capture the soul of the person I am drawing, through simple yet purposeful lines and texture.” This is the first time Veraldi is selling her portraits (an iconic signature of the artist) as original works on paper.
