ABOUT THE ARTWORK The drive to Marfa was a good one. We'd spent some time together by then, and had finally settled in. Unless maybe you've grown up with someone, you don't realize how little you know of each other. One of the most thrilling things you can when driving on a dark country road is turn off the headlights, and, just for a moment, drive blind with little more than the glow of the dashboard to guide you. By the time we made it into Marfa, the town had closed for the night, and the glow from the sign was unbelievable. We spent some time figuring what to do and a few rolls getting the shot. We eventually made our way back just outside of the town and camped outside the car on a bit of gravel. In the morning we returned to see Marfa in better light.
