Ink on paper | 2019
Fanny Allié’s practice is inspired by overlooked and lost elements of everyday life. She’s interested in the spaces we inhabit, specifically the body—the first place that contains us. Allié’s “Pink” series is a collection of collagraph prints that she created with previously discarded packaging and containers. Each work features an abstract, uncertain landscape. Characters and their shadows interact with grounding elements like homes and rocks, but are simultaneously unsteady as if they are suspended by a thread or on the verge of falling.

Featured in Hyperallergic, New York Times, and New York Magazine, Fanny Allié's mixed-media works incoporate sewing, texture, drawing and painting. Her work considers the human body from the lens of gesture and investigates how bodily forms operate when fragmented.
