DESCRIPTION
Archival ink on museum-quality cotton rag paper | 2021
Bella McGoldrick’s photorealistic still lifes capture artifacts of the everyday. She meticulously draws pre-adored, used, and discarded objects, instilling them with a sense of curiosity and sentimentality. In this print, McGoldrick depicts a whiskey cup and champagne glass—objects taken from a London pub just days before lockdown. These relics from a festive past balance atop a crumpled envelope concealing a mysterious message.
