"I really am into the idea of shoes as animals. Their faces and teeth (souls) are just incredible. I really like all the teeth / blue jungle color work happening here. Also I really wanted to see what the inside of a Sturgeon (the fish) looked like. I wish I could hear the noises these guys made. It would sound like inverted zoo noise."

Environmental issues, Native American history, sports culture, gang culture, fish conservation and the relationship between humans and the natural world are the core columns of Steiger's work.
