Guest Curator
Charissa Thompson
Charissa Thompson is a sports broadcaster as well as the founder of her full service interior design business, House and Home Design. She lives between Nashville and Los Angeles and began her design company in 2020 during the pandemic out of a true passion to help make people feel like their house was really a home. Thompson found that her hobby of design became more of a necessity for friends and family who, like so many of us, were stuck at home. House and Home strives to offer affordable services to those who have always dreamed of hiring an interior designer but don't want to break the bank.
Q.
What was the most recent piece of art you collected?
A.
A piece from an artist named Denis OUCH (on Instagram). I saw this incredible street art on canvas. It was a bright blue background with two Elvis' mirroring each other and the words: "Don't fuck with me I love you" written on it. I was mesmerized and that happens rarely for me. I was living in NYC at the time and moving to Nashville so maybe it was Elvis. Whatever it was I loved it. I walked by wishing I could buy it but it was so large and I was on my way to dinner and my husband was with me and I was so upset I couldn't get it. I kept thinking about it and little did I know my husband had a friend of his go buy it for me and surprised me with it. It now hangs in our home in Nashville.

Charissa Thompson says
“The Gauze pieces speak to me the most. I am crazy about a neutral palette and textures. So these are perfection.”

Q.
Where do you draw inspiration from?
A.
My clients. House and Home prides itself on being a design firm that isn’t ne dimensional. We want to cater to our clients tastes. So if you're a fan of modern design, we will accommodate that. If you like contemporary, farmhouse, or minimalist--you name it we will help you achieve it.
Charissa Thompson says
“I am very into monochromatic looks. There is so much elegance in simplicity.”

Q.
Where and when do you feel most creative?
A.
Traveling. Traveling inspires me so much. Different cultures, food, people and so much more.
