Fanny Allie’s work is at times deeply sentimental and at others chillingly powerful. This work is most certainly the latter. At the smallest scale, Allie depicts a visceral tableau of black and white figures deeply engaged in emotion, struggle and malintent.

I adore peering into Georgia Elrod’s wild mind through her mechanically considered body parts. When so much of figurative painting today follows broad trends in style, Elrod is unto her own. She understands technology, emotion and miracle when she portrays the body.

Sanaa Gateja is a truly unique creator. He creates beads from recycled paper and then weaves them into the most brilliant tapestries. His studio employs over 50 women from neighboring communities.
