New additions to Teschner’s vibrant series on the confrontation between natural phenomenon and architecture. Influenced by the way temperature and weather impact built objects, their boundaries, and surrounding space, the sculptures are constructed of individually painted planes stitched together in anomalous arrangements. Their scale fluctuates from board to building, drawing on both the language of wood joinery and the extensive palette of a lush tropical landscape.
She says “There are plants that are quiet. At home in a fog, or before the sun comes up...
I like the phrase to ‘make something true’. To true up a board. To bring to level. That the house is built up in relation to earth math.”
