DESCRIPTION

Archival ink on museum-quality cotton rag paper | 2020

Bella McGoldrick’s photorealistic still lifes capture artifacts of the everyday. She meticulously draws pre-adored, used, and discarded objects, instilling them with a sense of curiosity and sentimentality. In this print, McGoldrick illustrates the paradoxical nature of single use plastic: a collection of flowers are neatly wrapped in a plastic case. At first the plastic serves as a convenient display for earth’s beauty, but it will inevitably become waste that’s harmful to the planet.
