Bella McGoldrick’s latest work is an intimate glimpse into some of the artist’s favorite things and a gathering of memories, places, and people from a year of travel and change. Entertainment for Men, a photorealistic still life, offers the viewer a collection of items that may or may not mean what you think they do — is the pearl a sexual node or a memory of a freezing winter in Amsterdam? Is the mushroom a psychedelic trip or hike in the wilds of Colorado? The piece invites each viewer to create a unique meaning of not only each item, but of the relationship between them.
