Acrylic on raw canvas, framed in walnut finish
A continued series of paintings from artist Sarah White, Portals III is a nod to the complex yet overlooked details the artist sees daily around her studio in the industrial district of Seattle, Washington. Surrounded by cranes, old factories, patina, metal, and aged wood, Sarah sees beauty and inspiration in how decay and organic imperfection leaves a mark on even the most durable man-made things. She applies layers of diluted acrylic on raw canvas to create atmospheric abstracts that are inspired by these subtleties that often go unnoticed.

About the Artist
Sarah White
Artist Sarah White's painting style is founded in her long-standing interest in old objects and decay, having photographed obscure details in nature since her childhood. Her work explores cultural expectations around repair or disposal. It is her hope that her large-scale, minimal, color-field paintings evoke the feeling of nostalgia she finds in all things that age well.
